Background Of the Company
The Bauchi state Agricultural Supply Company Limited was registered as a limited liability company under the Company's Act, 1968 in December, 1981 with an authorized share capital of N4,000,000.00 subscribed to by the Bauchi state government (96%) and the Bauchi state Co-operative Financing Agency (4%).

Objectives Of the Company
The Objective of the company is to undertake commercial activities in support of agricultural programme in the state through efficient procurement, distribution and sales of agricultural inputs. This is to primarily provide the necessary support and back-up services for the overall agricultural development in Bauchi state. The company is also mandated by its Memorandum and Articles of Association to profitably participate in marketing of all agricultural produce, such as, cotton, grains etc.

Our vision is to become the best agricultural company in Nigeria if the state Government would continue to give us the necessary support as it is doing presently.

• Satisfying the needs of everyone we serve, Farmers, Foods and Allied Companies, Employees, Communities, Government of Bauchi state.

PRODUCT LINE
The company's product lines include:

• Seeds - Cereals, legumes and vegetables
• Agro- chemical - herbicides, insecticide and fungicides
• Fertilizer-NPK, UREA, SSP
• Livestock inputs- salt lick, feeds, drugs and vaccines
• Farm machinery - 4 wheel and 2 wheel tractors and implement, water pumps, animal- drawn ridges and cultivators.

PROSPECTS:
Our projection/plan for the year 2008 is as follows:

• Livestock inputs (feeds, dings, vaccines)
• Farm machinery (threshers, harvesters, pumps, grinders, ridgers ) etc
• Agro-chemical (herbicides, insecticides, fungicides) etc.
• Seeds (cereals and vegetables seeds)
• Commodity marketing.

PROBLEMS:
Like any other government company, BASAC has some problems which require urgent attention:

For BASAC to effectively discharge its responsibilities, additional staff would be necessary especially in the middle cadre.
