MISSION
Education being indispensable for human progress and improvement, the Ministry is to promote the delivery of qualitative Education for the State citizen's & student's development of their fall capacities, for them to live and work in dignity, to improve quality of their lives, to make informed decisions, to continue to learn so as to help ensure a safer, healthier and environmentally sound world while simultaneously contributing to social, economic and cultural progress, tolerance and international cooperation. The Ministry should also delivery quality Education that is fundamental to me strengthening of scientific and technological literacy and capacity and thus to self reliant development and fall participation in human and resource developments.
VISION
Developing in the entire citizenry a strong consciousness for Education and a strong commitment to its vigorous promotion and ensuring the acquisition of appropriate levels of literacy, numeracy, manipulation, communicative and life skills as well as the ethnical, moral and civic values needed for laying a solid foundation for life by learning.
MISSION STATEMENTS
- Responsible for recruitment, promotion, disciplinary actions and general staff welfare.
- Planning, organizing and implementing policies concerning me teaching and learning of all subject taught in Schools in the State.
- Processing for the procurement, supply of laboratory and workshop equipment, Chemicals and working materials
- Purchases, distributes, stores and controls, repairs etc of furniture, apparatus, books and other teaching materials.
- Choice of School site, construction, renovation, repairs and maintenance of buildings.
- Posting and transfer of senior, junior, academic and nonacademic
- Assessing quality standard in line with the National policy on Education.
- Identifying, drawing attention and making appropriate recommendations to government on all problems affecting Schools.
- Inspection of both public and private Schools and accreditation of senior Secondary Schools certificate Examination (SSCE).
- Inspection of private Schools for registration as Government approved Schools.
- Preparation and conduct of junior Secondary Examination for placement into SSI.
- Preparation and conduct of selection Examination into Government Arabic Colleges and Students Exchange School Programme.
- Payment of staff salaries, leave transport grants and other allowances to its staff.
WAY FORWARD
- Accreditation of Courses in all Technical Colleges.
- Establishment of the Board for Science and Technical Education.
- Renovation of Science / Technical Teachers Training programme.
- Construction, renovation and equipping of science and technical laboratories.
- Pasting of Graduate Technical Teachers from secondary schools toTechnical Colleges.
- Procurement of training material, science and technical text books.
- Recruitment of sufficient numbers of teachers in all subject especially Mathematics, English and the sciences.
- Establishing health clinics /sick bay in all Secondary schools in the state.
- Provision of good sources of drinking water in all secondary schools.
- Construction of Examination and assembly halls m all senior secondary schools.
